The Venice Glass Week
Starting from the 10th of September until the 17th, the first international festival dedicated to the art of glassmaking will take place in Venice. The festival aims at reviving and supporting one of the most important artistic and productive activities of the area. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Venice and has been conceived by three of the main Venetian cultural institutions which have been working on the topic for many years: Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini/LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and by the most important associative entity of the glassmaking field namely the Consorzio Promovetro Murano. This fruitful collaboration has given birth to a huge range of various events – more than 140 – including exhibitions, conferences, seminars, shows, didactic activities, themed dinners and opened furnaces.
